Russo  Reminiscent  2017

Jess and Joey have poured their hearts into the next generation all year.  Joey is Associate Pastor of Student Ministries at Grace Church in Fishers, IN. He is a kid magnet and incredible motivator. He is such a hard worker and is always lending a hand fixing cars or equipment, etc.   Jessica is developing teen worship leaders as she trains students to lead music for the senior high and junior high meetings, retreats, etc. She is dearly loved and respected. The skills and talents of these two are incredible! We love that they live close by and we get to enjoy some hang time with them as their schedule allows.

Chris loves living in Colorado! The spectacular views and activities available, plus the great weather, keeps him happy! He never fails to tell us we should move out there too.  If only . . .   ha.  Chris launched new beginnings this year: new living situation (awesome), a new job as a high school math tutor at Valor Christian High School in Highland Ranch, CO, and he stepped into a new role as Prayer Coordinator for his church. He enjoyed a seeing the magnificent Redwood trees in northern CA for the first time in summer. We loved having him home for 2 weeks over the Christmas break!

After a 30 year hiatus, Michael tackled another big mountain! He and Chris climbed Mt. Bierstadt in Colorado, elevation 14,065 feet. He claims summiting was made possible only by Chris’ constant encouragement.     Great memory now that they survived it! Michael continues his job as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor at Anderson University. He was made for this! His schedule stays FULL.

Despite breaking her leg in January, Dana had a busy travel schedule this year –providing Communication Skills training in Florida and Australia (amazing!), teaching pastors and clergy how to walk with others in grief, Compassionate Listening Skills, Power of Questions, etc. She also attended three more grief courses: Complicated Grief, Carried Grief, and Spiritual Dimensions of Grief. She now has 210 hrs of intensive study in this field.

Big moments: Dana celebrated 40 years of working with Cru in July, she was awarded certification in Grief and Death Studies under the teaching of Dr. Alan Wolfelt, and also her certification for Spiritual Direction. As a result, she is responding to referrals and requests to meet individuals who are lost in the wilderness of grief as well as those who struggle spiritually or long for more in their relationship with God. What a sacred journey. She anticipates many more opportunities in 2018.
