In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was with God in the beginning.  In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”        John 1:1-2,5,14

“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word.       Hebrews 1:3

2018 Highlights:

Joey & Jessica have stayed busy this year pouring into the lives of the next generation. Joey is a youth pastor and very involved in the lives of the kids and the community. Jess works with a high school mentoring initiative for at-risk kids and leads worship most weekends. They make an amazing team. “Belle” (pup) and “Reggie” (cat) keep things lively at home as well. We love any opportunity to hang out with them as their schedule allows. Grateful to live in the same town!

Chris & Amy  Dreams do come true! In a matter of days, on Dec. 29th in Denver, CO, Chris and Amy will unite as one. We are excited to participate in the celebrations! Amy is a wonderful, joyful, engaging woman and we are thrilled that God has brought her into our family! They both teach at a college-prep Christian high school, love exploring the Colorado mountains and beauty, are very involved in their church, and are so ready to begin their adventure together as Mr. & Mrs. Russo!

Michael continues counseling students at Anderson University. He loves working with college students, as they are old enough to have challenges but young enough to still be moldable and take action for change. He just completed his 3,000 post-grad supervised hours! He will now apply for full licensure as a clinical mental health counselor, which includes studying for and passing a monster exam! This has been quite a journey and it is exciting to approach the culmination of such hard work. We also enjoyed quick trips this summer to visit family in AR, travel to CO to meet dear Amy, and enjoy dear friends in Whidbey Island, WA.

Dana has continued her work with Cru (year 41) focusing on studying Gen Z and how to communicate God’s truth to them in language they understand. In July she launched HOPE RISES LLC (www.Hope-Rises.com) to offer help and hope to those who’ve lost a loved one, and provide grief training for churches and organizations that desire to walk compassionately with the bereaved. This vision was placed on her heart three years ago and it is exciting to see her efforts, extensive education, and perseverance be realized. She not only meets with those who are bereaved, but also provides spiritual direction to those longing for more in their faith walk with God. It really feels like God is “repurposing” us for this last trimester (or quarter?) of life.

Words are inadequate to describe the beauty, wonder, amazement, and awe of this advent season.

May we experience Him in ever more personal ways each day!
